Objective: Design a logo for the Visual and Performing Arts Department at a university. Ensure that it could work in a circle or square crop and that is a text-based design.
Response: In approaching this logo, the client expressed their interest in a specific test-based logo. From there, I wanted to find a way in which I could make the logo unique and unlike any other while maintaining a timeless and classic look. I chose to utilize negative space for the following logo. The symbolism of the paint stroke hints at the department’s art-based programs, yet the typography of the logo conveys a professionalism and a simplicity that transcends to all areas of the brand.
