Kinetic Typography
A kinetic type lyric video animation to the Chainsmokers “Don’t Let Me Down.” Created in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Audition, and Adobe After Effects.
Objective: Create a kinetic type animation using After Effects to accompany an audio clip of your choice. You must use text, audio, AND images to support your project.
Response: For this project, I chose to create a kinetic type lyric video to the Chainsmokers “Don’t Let Me Down.” I felt that the tempo of this song was very upbeat and staccato, lending itself to a difficult yet dynamic animation and storyboard structure. In order to condense the song to be approximately one minute (as delineated by the creative objective), I remixed the song within Adobe Audition to create a seamless remix version of the song that I could create a full lyric video to. My animation was executed in Adobe After Effects and demonstrates the ambience and intention of the song in a sophisticated and creative way.
